The "Outsider"
Nice little hike at Snowbird |
snow. Let me repeat that 2 INCHES. "Big woop!" is what I would say checking my routine morning weather report at 8:00 am. My friend, LOVED it! I did not see that same excitement coming from myself. I did not see the big picture. I did not see the amazing mountain scenery that we have here in Utah. It opened my eyes, again. He rejuvenated that schoolboy obsession with the mountains. The whole and only reason why I moved to Utah in the first place.
Then, it happened. Last day of my friend being here, we got hit with 4 inches the night before and a storm the entire day. POW POW POW! Turns out we got a total of 12 inches on the whole day. It was really cool seeing his expression after getting his first line of real snow. It reminded me of myself when I first came out here when I was 15 years old. Too be honest, in powder, I still get that expression; giddy, big ole shit eatin' grin, utter excitement. Some people do not understand why I moved out here. Well, get sick with it in some of the freshest powder in the country and you will understand.
The point I am trying to reach, is that you should appreciate what you have. Cliche, yes. Even more true, hell yeah! Whether it be the terrain, your friends, your family, warm weather, your job, good food, better beer, your girl, yada yada yada, appeciate it! We got one life. Live it up, and never look back. Oh and here is the footage that I got and edited...
Thanks Stegman!
