How Not to Camp

While in the Adirondacks on The Most Epic Trip we found an awesome campsite with a huge open area right off the road yet secluded from it at the same time.  (It is just around a small bend)  This was the first camp site that we have found in about a month that was just as Epic as the trip.  We decided that we should probably set up our tent to make sure that we will have a camp site.  Apparently it did not matter because we get back to camp after a long day of climbing and it is completely taken over by a group of four guys.  (Now I got to know the guys a bit and they were alright.  Their camping ethics though, were not.) 
There were a couple of things that they did that I noticed that really set me off.  I figured they learned how to camp from the How-Not-To school of learning.

1.  Spread out. EVERYWHERE.

Do not respect other people's area or the general common area.  Put your stuff everywhere.  Put coolers in the way of walking to other people's tents, to the car, etc.  Really make it so it is convenient for you and no one else.

2.  Put your tent in the middle of the campground.

Do not choose an obvious nook in the campground but put your tent right in the middle of the campground regardless if it is an 8 man tent or a 1 man tent.  (It was an 8 man)

3.  Let your dog run free.

Your dog is perfect, probably.  Let them run around, roam the grounds to poo and pee everywhere.

4.  Talk especially loud at night.

Because you are not doing anything until later in the day tomorrow, get really wasted and talk really loud so everyone can hear you in the campground.

4a.  Play music.

Hey what's camping without music!

5.  Don't clean up.

Nature cleans up itself.  Those glass bottles will decompose in a million years, way after we die.  So don't worry about it!

6.  Don't let the fire die.

Hey you brought all of that wood, got to use it!  Don't let the fire die.  It should go out AFTER you go to sleep.

7.  Park your car so no one else can get in, out, or park.

Leave your car right in the way of everyone else from getting their cars in the site.  A truck is best as it will take up the most space.
